What You Need to Replace Your Scooter Wheels
Before you start, make sure you have all the necessary tools ready:
- 6 mm Allen key — standard on all Chilli Pro scooters
- 13 mm wrench or skate tool — to loosen the axle nut
- New wheels — make sure to get the right diameter (e.g., 100 mm, 110 mm, 115 mm, 120 mm, 145 mm, and 150 mm)
Tip: Make sure not to lose the spacers!
Step-by-Step: How to Change Stunt Scooter Wheels
1. Secure Your Scooter
Place your stunt scooter on a stable surface or secure it so you can work comfortably.
2. Remove the Rear Wheel
- Use the Allen key to loosen the axle
- Unscrew the nut and pull out the axle
- Remove the spacers and the wheel
3. Install the New Wheel
- Insert the new wheel
- Place the spacers correctly on both sides
- Slide the axle back through
- Put the nut back on and tighten
4. Change the Front Wheel
The same procedure as the rear: loosen axle → remove wheel → insert new wheel + spacers → tighten axle
Watch Out for Wheel Size
Many scooter models (e.g., Chilli Reaper) are designed for 110 mm wheels — some also fit 120 mm wheels. Before upgrading to bigger wheels:
- Check your fork and deck — do bigger wheels even fit?
- Adjust your brake if needed — larger wheels usually require a bigger brake!
