The younger or smaller the child, the lighter and more compact the scooter should be (e.g. Chilli Pro Scooter 3000 from approx. 6 years of age weighing only 3.1 kg or the Chilli Pro Scooter Base S weighing only 3.55 kg).
For larger children aged 8 and above, a more robust model is recommended – such as the Chilli Pro Scooter Base and Rocky, weighing only 3.65 kg, or the Chilli Pro Scooter Ventus M, weighing only 2.95 kg. -
The choice between beginner and professional scooters depends on experience, riding style and goals. Beginner models are suitable for learning basic tricks, while professional scooters are designed for advanced riders and heavy loads. Weight, height and personal goals should definitely be taken into account when making your selection.
-
The biggest mistake when buying a children's scooter is the size. If the scooter is too small, it can cause back problems and compromise safety when riding. If the scooter is too big, it is difficult to manoeuvre.
In addition, a scooter that is too big can pose a safety risk when braking, as the child cannot reach the brake properly. -
Anyone who wants to buy a used stunt scooter saves money, protects the environment and can still purchase a safe, high-quality product. It is important to thoroughly check the condition of the scooter, consider any replacement parts and set the right budget.
With a little care, a used scooter can be just as much fun as a new model – and you can enjoy it with a clear conscience. There are a few important points to consider to ensure that the purchase is safe and worthwhile for parents and children. Before buying, the scooter should be thoroughly checked for cracks, deformities or major chips. The scooter's functionality should also be checked: brakes, screws and rust spots, bearings and general condition. -
Especially for beginners or when buying a scooter online, it can be difficult to know what size you need. That's why we've put together a quick guide to help you find the perfect size.
Before we begin, please make sure you have the following measurements to hand:
1) The height from the floor to the T-bar
2) The height from the deck to the T-bar
3) The height from the floor to the bottom of your trouser pockets
4) The height from the floor to the top of your hips or navel
The top of the T-bar should be exactly between the bottom of your trouser pockets and below your navel. This applies regardless of whether you are standing next to the scooter or on the deck.
If the T-bar is higher than your navel, you may bump your face while riding or lose control of the steering. However, if the T-bar is significantly below your trouser pockets, you may trip over the scooter while riding and injure yourself. -
The Chilli Pro Scooter Team riders do not ride standard complete scooters, but individually assembled custom builds.
These are constructed from high-quality Chilli Pro Scooter parts – including our CSG decks, various T-bars, robust wheels, Ventus decks and other premium components.
Each rider can thus assemble their own personalised scooter, optimally tailored to their own riding style, preferred tricks and the stresses and strains of the skate park. -
If you want to customise your scooter, you can easily build your own stunt scooter with Chilli Pro Scooter Parts. This option is particularly popular with riders who have specific requirements for their setup or simply value an individual design.
Why build your own stunt scooter?
A self-built scooter offers you many advantages:
• Individual customisation: You decide which deck, handlebars, wheels and colour best suit your style.
• Better quality: You can specifically choose high-quality individual parts – such as a robust CSG deck, a sturdy T-bar or grippy wheels.
• Upgradeable: You can replace or upgrade individual parts at any time without having to buy a completely new scooter.Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
